About Scott

Scott Russell is a professional actor, educator, and premier violence designer based in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a union-recognized Fight Director with the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC) and serves as a Certified Fight Director and Full Instructor with Dueling Arts International (DAI).
With extensive expertise in theatrical combat, Scott is also recognized as an Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD), holding active certifications across all eight primary weapon disciplines. His professional choreography credits span major Midwest regional theatres, including the Phoenix Theatre and the Actors Theatre of Indiana. He is highly sought after for staging safe, high-impact, and dramatically compelling stage violence for both professional theatre and film productions throughout Indiana and the Great Lakes region.

Scott received his MFA in Theatre from the University of Arkansas, and is a graduate of The Conservatory at Act One Studios - Chicago.  He holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from Belmont University and spent many  years as a cancer biologist.
